Independence and referrals: how VCC Singapore earns

We publish free guides and tools and carry no advertising. When a reader asks for help with a live matter, we introduce them to licensed providers who may compensate us. This page sets out exactly how that works and what it does not affect.

What we do not do

  • No advertising, sponsored content, affiliate links or paid placements.
  • No page recommends a provider, and the providers we introduce readers to are not named on the site.
  • No provider has editorial input, sees content before publication, or can request changes.
  • No fee is charged to readers or to advisers for an introduction, and there is no obligation to engage.

What we do

When a reader or adviser sends a matter through the contact form or a tool’s result request, the desk replies with the structure, the tax track and the realistic cost band that apply, and — where it fits — introduces one of two kinds of provider: MAS-licensed Capital Markets Services fund managers for fund management, family-office and licensing matters, and an international fund-services group with a Singapore office for administration, NAV, corporate secretarial and reporting. The provider engages the reader directly under its own terms. Those providers may pay us a referral fee for introductions that become engagements; that fee is not added to the reader’s cost.

Why this model

It funds a publication that can be exhaustive about the rules without needing to sell anything on the page. The reader gets the guide, the tool and a considered reply whether or not an engagement follows; the provider gets an enquiry that has already understood its own situation. The editorial rules that keep this honest — no naming, no recommending, no input — are written into the editorial policy and enforced on every page before it is published.

Your enquiry

Enquiries are used only to reply and to make the introduction you asked for. We do not publish clients, advisers or matters; client patterns described in articles are anonymised. Details are in the privacy policy.

Frequently asked questions

Do you get paid when you introduce a provider?

Providers may pay a referral fee for introductions that become engagements. Nothing is added to the reader’s cost, no fee is charged to the reader or adviser, and the introduction carries no obligation.

Why don’t you name the providers?

So that no page on the site functions as a recommendation and no provider can point to editorial content as an endorsement. The introduction is made by email once we understand the matter, and the provider is chosen for fit.

Does the referral relationship influence what you publish?

No. Providers have no editorial input, do not see content before publication, and cannot request changes. The guides warn about costs, conditions and failure modes as readily as they explain benefits; the editorial policy makes that a rule, not a preference.

Are the tools independent?

Yes. They apply published thresholds and illustrative cost ranges to your inputs; several of them tell readers when a structure does not pay for itself at their size. Their assumptions and sources are shown on each tool.

Can I use the site without ever being introduced to anyone?

Of course. The guides, tools and Chinese twins are free and complete without an enquiry. Introductions happen only when you ask.
