About VCC Singapore
VCC Singapore is an independent editorial publication on Singapore’s Variable Capital Company: what it is, how it is set up, what it costs, which tax track applies, and how fund managers, family offices and their advisers use it. Online since 2021, written from primary sources, in English and Chinese.
What we publish
The site covers one subject in depth: the Singapore Variable Capital Company and everything a fund or family has to decide around it — the structure and its requirements, the 13O, 13OA, 13U and 13D tax incentives on both the licensed-manager and family-office tracks, licensing and the hosted-platform route, fund administration, family offices, cross-border corridors, and the running-cost arithmetic. Alongside the guides we build free tools — an eligibility checker, cost calculators, a fee estimator, a carried-interest comparator and a GIP option finder — that turn the rules into numbers for a reader’s own situation.
How we work
Every guide starts from the primary text — MAS circulars and FAQs, IRAS e-Tax guides, ACRA guidance, EDB factsheets, the Acts themselves — and names its sources at the foot of the page. Every page carries a currency date and the name of the editor who reviewed it. Where a rule changed, we say when and for whom: since MAS split the fund tax conditions into a commercial track and a family-office track, every threshold on this site names the track it belongs to. Where we could not verify a figure, we say so rather than guess. The full method, including how we handle corrections, is set out in our editorial policy.
Who we are
VCC Singapore is written and reviewed by a small editorial desk: Marcus Cheong (structure, governance and setup), Katrin Lindqvist (tax and incentives) and Daniel Tan (funds, licensing and operations). Their remits and how to reach them are on the team page. The publication is privately owned and Singapore-based; it is not a regulator, a law firm, a tax adviser, a fund manager or a fund administrator, and nothing on the site is legal, tax or financial advice.
How we earn, in one paragraph
We do not sell advertising, run affiliate links or accept paid placements. When a reader or adviser asks for help with a live matter, we introduce them — at no fee to the reader — to MAS-licensed fund managers and to an international fund-services group with a Singapore office. Those providers may compensate us for introductions that become engagements. They are not named on the site, they have no say over what we publish, and no page recommends a provider. The detail is on the independence and referrals page.
Languages and machine readers
Most guides have a Simplified Chinese twin under /zh/, translated by the same editors and paired with the English page. Every page also serves a Markdown twin for AI assistants and agents, listed in llms.txt; we welcome citation with attribution.

Who owns VCC Singapore?
VCC Singapore is a privately owned, Singapore-based editorial publication, published from 101 Telok Ayer Street #03-02, Singapore 068574, and online since December 2021. It is not part of a law firm, fund manager, administrator or regulator.
Is the content independent?
Yes. No provider pays for placement or has editorial input, no page recommends a provider, and we carry no advertising or affiliate links. We earn from introductions to licensed providers that readers request; the terms are set out on the independence and referrals page.
How current are the figures?
Every page carries a currency date and the editor who reviewed it. Thresholds and dates are checked against the primary text, and when the rules change we state the effective date and the track it applies to rather than repeating old numbers. Monthly, we sweep the whole site for superseded figures.
Is anything on the site advice?
No. The guides and tools are general information for orientation. They are not legal, tax, financial or immigration advice, and every threshold should be confirmed with MAS, IRAS, ACRA or EDB and a qualified adviser before acting.
How do I report an error?
Email the editor named on the page or start@vccsingapore.com with the page URL and the source you believe is correct. We acknowledge within one business day, correct the page if warranted, and record material corrections in the log on the editorial policy page.
